Our Mission

To strengthen community resilience to shocks and stressors in the Ethiopia and Kenya through integrated cross-border development initiatives that promote women and youth empowerment, livelihoods and food security, and peace & security.

A resilient and prosperous cross-border community where people live in peace, have access to sustainable livelihoods, and women are empowered to participate fully in social and economic development.

The MAP Initiative

Multi-Actor Partnership (MAP) platform is a comprehensive 3-year cross-border development initiative that addresses the unique challenges faced by communities living along the Kenya-Ethiopia border.

Geographic Focus

The project region is located along the Kenyan-Ethiopian border (see map in Annex 1). On the Ethiopian side, it includes the three districts (woreda) of Dire, Dillo and Dassanech with an estimated 172,465 people. The first two lie in Borena Zone, while Dassanech district lies in South Omo Zone.

Implementation Period

2022-2025: A three-year comprehensive program designed to create lasting impact and sustainable development outcomes.

Funding Partners

Supported by BMZ (German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development) and implemented through strategic partnerships.
